I've definitely fantasized about writing American Girl fic where each girl meets her predecessor long after she's grown up, starting with Felicity and moving forward through history, and I've never pursued it beyond thinking it'd be fun.
That would have been something I’d have liked to see as a kid, though I think again it would have been like being haunted by Mortality to know that Felicity would not make it to meet even Addy, let alone Molly. All of the dates seemed impossibly and equally In The Past to me, but having it really spelled out, hoo boy.
My teacher in first grade read Kirsten’s books to the class every day and we were all obsessed with hearing more. That was where I first heard of them. I wonder if there were any other kids who subsequently went ape shit about the books and needed to get more.
I had the most of Addy, I made a point of getting her books when they were available in the book order in my class, but I also had like the first four of Molly, Samantha, and Felicity.
