To be fair, closing the oven is the correct first step in that scenario (deprives the fire of oxygen).

I suppose the equivalent would be: not trying to process trauma until you are out of danger. So if you check on your mental health and your mental health says: I am experiencing trauma!!, put your mental health away, get out of immediate danger, then check in with yourself again.
