Somewhat related to that note, in the opinion of those of you who are watching me do stuff on the internet, what things did I do here on the internets would you hypothetically like to see happen for money dollars.
I do offer art commissions, although I have to update my page about doing so, but I I feel as though I have a problem of audience versus capability to buy things? As in oh, the people who seemed most interested in my art are also the people who are least likely to be able to purchase it for what it is worth. Meaning they’re usually like teenagers and broke college students not that I’m charging exorbitant amounts or anything.
I’ve been tentatively approached about repainting dolls for money? I managed to sell a Monster High doll that I repainted a while ago, and I sold an action figure of Londo Mollari who just needed to look like a person with facial features instead of unsettling voids. I don’t really know how to price them and it also seems weird to be hired to do them genetically versus selling ones that are explicitly in my style ( everyone’s getting dark lips and exploding eye makeup haha)?
I don’t really know where to find the market for people who need old photos restored except like at a nursing home or something.
I feel like I could get chapters of ReISH like, sponsored? Does a little dodgy to accept money for it when it’s a personal project that I’m already going to do and is technically fanfiction although divorced from its subject matter a few levels.
I don’t know I feel like I should know what to do to Market myself where and failing to do that is somewhat of a failing to be a proper artistic business person or something. Different work appeals to people in different websites even. My Johnny art does really well on Instagram and my She-Ra art does really well here. I think my Doctor Who stuff did the best on deviantART, as well as my original thing so that is not saying much as the definition of “well there is a bit fuzzy. My dolls do better here though they do better in a relative sense on my Instagram account just for dolls versus being combined with my artwork.
And that makes me feel like maybe I do too many things and they appeal to too different an audience? And then I just get overwhelmed was trying to keep up with all the websites where people want to see them and I don’t know.
