Cautiously hopeful that we are finally moving away from goddamn blind bag toys. I’m hopeful that the trend is going away now that I’m seeing a lot of “surprise” toys actually tell you what you are getting in one way or another. Secret codes on the packaging, just straight-up showing you in the Amazon listing so if you want to know you can and if you’re giving it to a child they can still be surprised…

Feel like like the OMG dolls should stop even bothering advertising surprises on their packaging. The precursors to Rainbow High were like “oh shit these would do much better smaller and not blind packaged”, and now behold, there’s trillions of them. It’s almost like people like knowing what they’re dropping money on.

I’m sure the LOL things will keep going, along with the damn color reveal Barbies, but I hope for far fewer new things to launch with surprise as their primary gimmicks.
