My single favorite thing about Malik Ishtar is that he escaped an abusive isolationist cult and gained his first taste of every freedom. And presumably, there was a beautiful, meaningful moment of:
“I can be anything I want to be now.”
And then with zero hesitation, he decided on Crimelord and Gay Icon™
