That manga bit where Bakura cheerfully seeks out and puts the ring back on after Battle City comes up a lot, but did anyone in the gang actually like…tell him what happened? Did anyone even say, “Hey, Bakura, btw, your evil side showed up and tried to ruin everything again.” ‘Cuz Bakura has no way of knowing that happened, and YB was on his best behavior and even downright helpful in Duelist Kingdom. Since Pegasus’ and Bonz’s death happened out of their sight, to everyone’s knowledge up until the blimp duel YB hadn’t done anything malevolent in months. As far as Bakura knew, YB had been defeated during the RPG and then resolved to be an honest good boy, and stuck to it.
Sure, when Bakura puts the ring back on he’s probably going to ask his ghost buddy some pressing questions (for example, “hey how did we get stabbed”) but did he have a reason to believe wearing the ring was actively dangerous or that Yami Bakura was up to no good again? Did…did anyone bother to give him this rather important intel?
