My annual plea for other people to tell me they would be genuinely happy to receive art as a gift
I feel like I’m being the cheapest bastard alive
I hate having to do this, I hate this time of year, I just feel like garbage who does not make money and then I have to go through the shame of getting a bunch of things and having nothing to offer in return but paintings no one asked for

Oh yeah totally, I love getting art as a gift, it feels really personal and thoughtful. Also, as someone in a similar situation, I feel your pain, it does suck to feel like you’re falling back on art because you can’t afford anything else, but I remind myself that Art Is A Thing People Buy, it’s worth a monetary value same as any other gift and that helps
