It’s not QUITE the same thing, but the first ever bbq pork bun I had, in like 2006 - I was like “Meh, I’m not wild about barbecue or pork” and my aunt was like “No, it’s really good, you have to try it” - was AMAZING, and I have been chasing that kind of transcendent char siu bao experience every since, to no avail.
