So I recently built a new computer and this required me to get a new FireWire card for my negative/slide scanner. I will spare you my regaling the hours of grief that it took to get all of that working due to Windows not liking perfectly good scanner drivers or deciding that card drivers should destroy video drivers *even in Safe Mode* and how long two runs through Windows’ repair functions took, but anyhow. Here’s the latest slide I obtained from the ether, it was stuck in a projector at a thriftstore and wanted to be free like a genie to grant me wishes, and the other side of the frame says it was processed in July of 1961.

Scan 1 without any processing. Plenty of color shift and dust.

Scan 2 with the scanner’s built-in ICE to remove the noise and ROC to restore the colors. Happy with the results and happy that I got this equipment working!
