I’m having like the most Charming conversation about the Sailor Moon and toy restoration with this woman I bought a really silly but extremely nostalgic Sailor Moon item off of on Etsy
The item incidentally is a set that like nobody believed was real for years. She has still in the package which is kind of a shame because I’m going to have to open it, but that’s also good because the important item in the set is some fucking cologne
When I was a kid I had this Princess Jasmine cologne / perfume that I was obsessed with and I put it on everything. I had a bunch of cardboard boxes from the Save-A-Lot grocery store that my dad went to and I used them for buildings and stuff for my own little town and I soaked the walls in this perfume and I put it on toys I thought deserved it I put it in the hair of Barbies and ponies that I liked and when you opened my giant toy box there was just a distinct hint of this stuff
A few years later I bought this ridiculous Sailor Moon brush and cologne set probably just because it was a Sailor Moon item that I could purchase in 1995 and I was surprised to discover that the Sailor Moon cologne smelled exactly like the Princess Jasmine cologne, which meant that it smelled like being 6 years old.
After this long who knows what it’s going to smell like but I hope that I can detect even a hint of what it used to be. I know it is likely to be bitter and have had some kind of reaction to the plastic bottle in all this time, but this is the first time I’ve seen it for sale and it was so cheap, considering the impact it had on me. And now that I am old enough to understand thar licensed manufacturing is a thing and I will have the intact Packaging, I might be able to look up who even made the shit and maybe someday figure out what the hell it was.
I’m sure it’s cheap as hell and like not even remotely a classy or interesting scent that you would like to smell on a person for real but there’s so much attached to it, I gotta see.
