I’m trying to see what’s going on with my vintage (Malibu probably?) Christie. She doesn’t seem to quite match everything else I’m finding. She doesn’t have the side burns or a made in Korea and her hands seem kind of rough. Her legs bend like proper vintage, and her head is rock hard. Maybe she’s been switched or she was like a cheap baggie one or something?

My Barbie ID book says of Malibu Christie, 1973-77

‘70s dolls made in either Korea or Taiwan, regular, Mexico, or Francie arms, some dolls have black painted sideburns, same doll with same model # issued [several times]

also mentions there could be a country mark inside the neck opening on the head

So it’s possible she is a Malibu Christie, just…with Mattel’s historically dubious quality control and consistency

That’s mostly the info I had found as well. Since my doll is marked as Philippines I’ve been wondering if she was body swapped at some point or just made really late with random available parts.

I haven’t yet attempted to remove her head in any meaningful way in order to see if there’s a country listed in there as well since it is rock hard and would require some significant heat application
