tbh ziyal was way better as a confused rabid teenager who would have been 10000% ready to be the “scary one” in jake & nog’s teen adventures , than the pure angel cream puff version. sorry. it’s a character balance thing.
then also it becomes 10000000000000000% funnier and better for garak to be her mentor because ofc dukat and garak hate each other so she would be like “father he is teaching me to stab” and dukat would be like “no stabbing” and she would be like “FATHER i am my own PERSON and i want to stab”
