The same surgeon found out I was massive nerd and in order to help me stop straight up crying about my appendicitis surgery at age 30, he held up the live long and prosper hand sign until the anesthesia kicked in and knocked me out. I heard the story of what he said after surgery from my brother, thought it was super funny, and related it to the 15 people on tumblr I thought would also find it funny from my hospital bed. I kind of want to contact the guy and tell him that the time he had to soothe a whole fucking adult and the joke later made with their family actually reached and helped a whole lot of people!
