I don’t think I ever talked about the replica in detail but it was sanded, hot wired, and sealed with a combination of matte and gloss sealant to match how light reflects off of bones that color. It was a filiment print so it took a ton of sanding ;-;! All the sutures were carved with a hotwire and filled in or drawn with pencil to match the natural cracks/fusions. The paint was hand done with acrylics. They were wiped and sanded and stained to match the colors/textures of the ones I saw in museums. I used darker colors in the nasals and orbits to create the illusion of depth even in low light. And I used some uncleaned coyote skulls as references to match the colors/textures as accurately as I could!
