I remember reading about them on one of my favorite doll blogs, but I don’t have any personal experience with them. Looking at photos and things they are not within the realm of my usual interest - dolls of children are largely not my thing unless they are particularly special or Undead hahaha - but I think that had they come out when I was small, they may have had a similar appeal to me that American Girl did because it was all based in history. I never got one of those either, but I was Captivated and read a lot of the books. One of my favorite Barbie lines to collect has always been the dolls of the world, dubious inclusion though it may have, so this line would have been attractive to me for that reason! Also I think doll catalogs feel like crack in general. Like I could sit there and just do nothing but read the descriptions and be completely immersed no matter what doll they were selling.
