Telling my cat I will restart their “days since our last senseless unprovoked attack” count as though they give a fuck

It’s like the same motivation that makes me tell them that they worked very hard or they put in a lot of effort or anything else that won’t give them a terrible sense of self esteem later in life like if I just tell them they are inherently smart. As though they are in any way impacted by my psychological redirection of their healthy sense of self development.

Potentially a distant cousin of me trying to teach them object permanence every evening with their kibble.
