Today I’ve been looking through my old dolls in honour of the Barbie trailer, and I came upon these two that have always been kind of intriguing to me.
They both have Mattel stamps on the back, but something in their faces and clothes have always put them apart from my other, “generic” dolls. I’ve been looking around online and haven’t really found any that look similar. Does anyone know if they’re from a certain line or collection?
Hi, the brunette has the lea/kira mold I think she might be from fashion fever or around that time https://fashiondollz.de/2000-kayla-lea-facemold/ and the blonde has the CEO mold at a guess I’d say mid 2000s with the big eyes before they switched to heavy makeup.
Blonde is the 2009 Chinese New Year Barbie (that was sold exclusively in Asia iirc), bearing the anime-esque screening that Mattel used for several Asia-exclusive dolls in the 2000’s (mostly Japan exclusives but also for China):
