Here’s a piece of Käärijä trivia that might have been hidden behind the language barrier:

The iconic bolero was never meant to be the final outfit. Käärijä was supposed to wear the black biker jacket for the UMK final instead. The green bolero was made only for the music video. The designers were inspired by professional wrestling and wanted to build muscles into Käärijä’s arms. They decided to do a bolero in order to keep as much bare skin visible as possible since he is Paidaton riehuja (shirtless menace).

They changed their minds and decided to re-use the bolero in UMK performances when it became so famous from the music video alone.
