“At school, when we used to do essays and English composition, my report generally read ‘Has little or no ability, but does his best,’ or words to that effect.”

:\

Wondering now if P. G. ever got that written on a report.

I got pretty much exactly that in phys. ed. in grade 9. She passed me because what else could she do? “Tinsnip can barely walk a straight line. But she tries.”

This happened to me in 11th grade chemistry, in which I got an award for “trying so hard, even though nothing made sense.”  I also once got 10.5 points on a test out of 50 in that class.  She gave me the half point for putting my name on the paper.

I got A’s on everything else, but chemistry fucked me up.
