I imagine we did, then, yes! The year I did the postcard for Gallifrey was my first year there. I talked to so many people there that I don’t remember a lot of specific people. Did you have another username then, or did we meet without having ever collided on Tumblr before? And how wacky, running into each other again on a DS9 post!
(I’m glad you’re singing the song too, I’ve been humming it for hours now.)
I rarely introduce myself with my username irl, and I don’t think we met online before Gally. I think we had a mutual friend (Van maybe? Or one of the other cosplayers) and that’s why we started talking. Or it might have been the year I was doing a Fem!Nine cosplay, not sure. But yes, how odd!
(*shakes fist* Ahh earworms!)
I remember meeting her. It was your fem!Nine cosplay year, I think the first year we ever went? It was the Blackjack year and we ogled art and Van was Jaime that year and we were mentioning how much he looked like Jaime in costume or something.
I don’t think it was the first year, I didn’t cosplay my first year. Plus Red was with us and she couldn’t come until the second or third. Van was Jaime every year so that’s no help :p Sometimes it’s frustrating having a narrative memory instead of a detail one.
I wasn’t there for Blackjack year, I was Islands of Mystery year, which was the one right after Blackjack. 2011, then. I wanted to say 2010, but I think that’s just because that’s when I made the postcard art (and most of my Who art in general) and I only had a girlfriend for one convention.
And yes, I know Van! Back when I was doing a lot of Doctor Who stuff, we talked all the time in LiveJournal comments and still say hi to each other at the con. (Van is also definitely Jamie every year, that helps no one, haha)
Either way, fantastic running into you again on a different fandom post! Small internet! I’ll be back there in February with an art table again, say hello if you see me!
