The problem with me getting into Deep Space Nine now, this late, is that I keep bumping into fandom jokes here on tumblr, not quite getting them because I wasn’t part of any original discussion, but still finding them hilarious.
Namely:
Cardassians in flower crowns.
Well done whichever individual or group came up with this, because now I feel like a Cardassian doesn’t look complete without a flower crown. I do not know where the flower crowns come from. I find it doesn’t matter. I just need flower crowns on Cardassians.
(Also, something about Garak and strawberries? I haven’t found the original context, but I love it all the same.)
Okay so here’s the skinny. About a year or so ago, someone in some fandom or other put a flower crown on a character. (It might have been the Hannibal fandom, but I can’t be sure.) The it spread like wildfire to every fandom you can think of, and beautiful things like Cardassians in flower crowns emerged. *happy sigh*

Thank you! The flower crowns thing is just the best, I hadn’t encountered it in my other fandoms (possibly due to my other fandoms being very very small), so I didn’t realise it was so widespread!
