a sitting senator who is on basically every committee in charge of regulating the industries elon musks companies work in put out a statement on the checkmark impersonation issue and elon responded by Epic Ratioeing him online. this will surely have positive repercussions in his future
of all the US Senators you could pick on, you chose the dude who’s on all the committees relevant to your companies.
The linked article includes to the detail that the reporter didn’t just choose to impersonate this senator; he asked and was granted permission to do so by Senator Markey.
Got up early and worked on a job application in a cafe,
And!
Went wondering in a nearby antique store as a reward warm up, where I found ONE INTACT ORIGINAL FLUTTER PONY WING
And the other flutter pony wing in the set that was broken, but in a way I can easily fix!
Yes I stood there scraping my fingers over the bottom of the Barbie storage case I found the wings in to find the little broken off tab. To any reasonable human that little tab would look like garbage - but to me, now I have TWO ACTUAL FLUTTER PONY WINGS! It’s the first time I’ve ever seen one that wasn’t broken or a reproduction. They are made of very thin vaccuum formed plastic and if you’ve seen a photo of a flutter pony with wings, they’re likely reproductions, because it was very common for them to break when little kids played with them. There were no actual vintage ponies in sight, though!
So, fun fact, the packaging/add campaign for vintage flutter ponies says they’re good luck. Of course it’s because I put in my time and effort, but surely allowing myself to take a fun walk in an antique store before I wrote up my application helped me get in the right head space for that because…I got the job!
@mothgoggles just directed my attention to this online glasses shop
Guys.
These glasses are so…
Look at this.
I still don’t plan to get a new prescription until after the plague, but I’m happy to have someplace new to look as I plan for a future cheap glasses buying spree.
Dlace Witch arrived today! She was held at customs office for quite a while, and I‘m happy she is finally here and without any broken parts. I didn‘t expect she came with a pair of different hands and that her crown and brain was already painted! Also a big surprise: her base stand‘s enormous size!! No idea yet where I can place her later when she‘s painted 😱 But she is really awesome! Her hands are so beautiful, resin quality and posing is great (just a few very thin areas at the hands). I‘m a little disappointed by her brain: actually I thought I‘ll display her without the crown, but now way… So she‘ll keep the crown😅 #sadomina #bjd #doll #balljointeddoll #dlace #art #artdoll #trinity #goddess #mailday #boxopening
Online academic resource JSTOR has announced it is making its database
accessible to the public, amid the widespread closure of universities
across the world due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The database, frequently used by university students for research and
essay work, announced on Twitter today that it has made over 6,000
ebooks and over 150 journals accessible without the need for an online
login.
Previously, students needed a university login to access these resources.
This is the first time that the database has been openly accessible to non-subscribers.
The database is also working to expand on the amount of free content
available online to students accessing the database through their
subscribed universities.
