One of the beautiful things about watching Classic Who is the mix of cheese and horror.
There’s an actual story in Classic Who where the Doctor takes his companion to a circus with a rapping ringmaster, and the Doctor saves the day by performing stage magic.
But that same story also features numerous deaths and explosions, an enslaved teenage girl, creepy robot clowns, and a family of trans-dimensional gods who kill anyone that fails to amuse them.
It’s kind of magnificent.
Classic Who really is the Greatest Show in the Galaxy.
