Banshee, from 2012
Commission for @thegukid, inspired by Imogen Heap’s “Black Canvas”.
My character Banshee in ink and watercolor.
I’ve wigged myself out for the evening and all my art plans just came to a screeching halt, so here are the mermaids I made of some of original ladies.

Banshee on dA
Image with a really condensed and mostly baffling context for what she was born out of. She was ‘born’ in ISH, the sequel story to the original SWAN, since I already mentioned that this evening. She’s an absolute fucking mess, but she’s a massively powerful symbol for me. I made her, but I want to be more like her and she’s like my own personal deity (says the atheist).
She’s the face in my icon, she’s the header on top of my website, she’s the medium through which I first discovered blood and rainbows together in the same image (see above), she’s my anger outlet, she’s how I explore a lot of things I don’t share with other people, she’s the vessel that carries the things that have become to heavy for me to deal with, she’s the voice that speaks most clearly when I paint, she is the strongest and most consistent source of creative joy I have, and in 2012, she legitimately saved my life.
I love Banshee.
