A little Deep Dish Nine Julian and Elim to keep you company while you computer, perhaps?
Tinsnip asked for the little guys I made for her birthday to be made into a window sitter, and she was kind enough to want to share!
These little guys run on an old program from the late 90’s/early 2000’s called Otaku Mascot, and you’ll need to get it to have these little guys on your windows, but it’s a very quick download, everything is very small, and it booted right up for me on Windows 7 without even a need to adjust for compatibility. You can get it here.
Once you have that, you can download Julian and Elim! (Save As~ Just clicking will probably give you some keyboard vomit~) They sit on your window and blink, and Julian fidgets his leg a little, and you can click on them for two different little animations of hearts and smiles nonsense. You can also move them on the window in case Julian is wiggling his leg all over a button you need. They’re not shimeiji or anything like that, they aren’t running rampant. They just sit and look happy. :)
Hope you enjoy~!
(If you desire something slightly more Deep SPACE Nine flavored, fear not! There are ~three~ of those coming, also courtesy of Tinsnip~!)
Oh man, this is awesome, I used Otaku Mascot a while back (people made a bunch of little Sherlocks and Johns, and I think some Doctor Who characters…) and it’s definitely amusing.
How much would I have to pay to get the entire DS9 crew made? I want me a little sitting Kira and Jadzia <3 (and Sisko, and Odo, and Quark, and O’Brien, and Ezri, and Jake, aaaand you see my problem…)
I DO see your problem. Tinsnip and I talked about how great a Quark one would look and really enjoyed thinking about an Odo one that could change into things and slurp into his bucket.
How much this would cost would depend on a few things, actually!
1 - How complicated you wanted both the drawings and the animations. As in, super simplified chibi drawings, or something more detailed? One click animation that was just a heart or a smile, or four animations and several of them are big motions? That sort of thing.
2 - Couple or single character?
3 - How many you wanted to order at one time
Tinsnip is in a special situation, price-wise, since I already had the pixels for a good portion of the work she wants, and she commissioned many things at once, so even if I could tell you what she paid, it’s not reflective of what this would normally cost.
If I imagine a single character who didn’t do anything complicated and was not incredibly detailed to draw, it might run at US$45. But it’s an estimate. These aren’t things I had ever anticipated needing to come up with a method of charging for, so it’s kind of nebulous!
