YAY it’s Esmeralda~

Sure I have a bunch of issues, but mostly I’m really psyched. Looks so much better in person, so cool. Still in love with the fact that they gave her feet that look like feet. Aside from me now traditional too large head she almost has people proportions!

There’s also a photo of her next to my Dalek speaker because I thought the juxtaposition was funny.

Still no idea where I’m going to put her but I think she’s kind of delightful.

She has to feet like a human and not a fashion doll stump, I’m so excited!

Both repainted Sisu dolls!

Did my pick up order at target and bought the Hasbro version of Sisu along with my groceries For Science. The hair had me So curious.

It’s long fuzzy fun fur, as it looks, but it’s pulled off with a sewn together kind of tube of the base fabric that tapers down from the back of her skull so it feels like she has this one large mat back there.

I like that she can stand on her own and I really like the shape of her hands. I wish either of the costumes had given her the extra long sleeves. Disney Store’s shoes are far better, along with most of their outfit. (And of course the articulation is better.)

Hasbro belt is plastic but it’s such a soft bendable plastic that I thought it was like a backpack strap or something at first. I don’t love plastic accessories but I think it lays better than the Disney Store version.

I’m kind of contemplating a repaint and head swap situation somewhere. Even with the sewn mat in the back, the fur’s colors and texture give me more of the vibe or something? I don’t normally do this as I don’t really like having more than one doll of a single character just for purposes of keeping the collection from evicting me from my own apartment, but something about Sisu compelled me.

Ordered Sisu from the Disney Store because the character appealed to me and the advertised additional articulation appealed to me.

She’s got a torso joint, ankles, and double jointed knees, vs standard Disney Store no torso motion and rubber click legs and their prior bow legged hinges.

There’s no rotation in the legs though, despite what looks like a rotational joint from behind.

She’s really cute, I hope she appeals to me after seeing the movie too, haha.

The lighting/angle of the hand on this keeps tripping me up and making me think Ursula is just casually giving the finger. And then I process it properly, but it makes me laugh every time so

I did not take anything resembling a good before photo because I didn’t know I was going to do this until I was doing it, but I slightly edited Alice’s face paint after removing her glitter and giving her long striped socks (from @dollsahoy !)

I want to give her some kind of petticoat situation so that it puffs out her skirt properly, but it turns out I have no garbage tulle or other suitable crunchy puffy stuff in all of the strange fabric that I have hoarded. I feel like everyone has garbage tulle, so I don’t know how this is possible.

I do have some very thick black lace ribbon, though. So I might pretend I know what I’m doing with some stiff black instead of white. We will see. I always enjoy sewing more once I’ve sat down and gotten into it but for some reason it’s always like either I am developing my own pattern and making an entire elaborate plush toy and doing nothing else but that for a straight 8 hours every day in some kind of fever or I am sewing a single line and then feeling utterly done.
