Hey, pardon more photos, I’m just really excited and pleased that Fuu turned out so well and I really love her. She would have been a really satisfying project all on her own, but that I have the other knights to finish too is so great.

My preteen self has been appeased for now.

I made Fuu a new headband with shrink plastic!

I’ll need to make a better and more thorough post this weekend because my friend is coming over to supply me with ribbon for Fuu’s headband, but dang this is pretty great.

The body shape is a little different than the original and so the clothes fit differently in some areas and I think the overall effect is that it makes her look a little younger, which I think is totally fine.

This is an exciting game now, like, “whose body will be next?!”

(Umi is incomplete back there because of her staining issues. We continue to attempt to address them.)

My Fuu! In various before and after shots. She’s borrowing my Ghoulia’s headband for a few photos until I get the ribbon I need for her. I got Fuu used and she didn’t come with the headband she’s supposed to have. Ghoulia’s is the wrong color, but it’s a good stand in for a photo.

Fuu will be transferred to a new body after the new year, so excited~

Well, we are not perfect and we bent a little in the process of being manhandled to be painted, but I think we’ve improved! Whew!

If I’d known about the bills, these girls probably wouldn’t have happened, but I’ve wanted them for a good fifteen years or so, so I’m pretty happy they did. For those not in the know, these are the girls from the series Magic Knight Rayearth, which was a big influence on me growing up.

They still need some work - Fuu (green) is in need of some hair taming and a ribbon headband, Umi (blue) is badly stained both over and under her blue jacket, and everyone needs me to come up with a solution for their deteriorating boots - but I love them.

The plan is to eventually get them onto bodies that allow them to move more and to fill in a lot of missing paint details on their weapons and armor.

I adore their clothes. They have shirts underneath those jackets with collars and pleats and bows. They feel positively luxurious compared to the kind of doll clothing you end up with today.
