Jazzie and Kelley share the same face mold, but were styled to be teenagers about a decade apart~
Continuing my obsession with vintage and retro doll articulation, this is Starr! She’s from a span of time from 1979-1981, and doesn’t she look it? I found her just ridiculously cute, and I particularly want her red headed friend Kelley. She is extremely fun with her posability, particularly her shoulder joint, which lets her arms move in ways I haven’t seen in other dolls like her. (She can shrug!) When I was a kid, I didn’t actually think mattel could make articulation beyond the knees and elbows of more ‘athletic’ dolls. I literally believed they were doing as much a they could and when I saw my first doll who proved otherwise, I was both amazed and angry my dolls didn’t have it. I always wanted more motion than Barbie could give me, and I would have adored this doll when I was little (not that I don’t now!).
She came with '12 teen items’ that make them sound like exotic artifacts. My favorite ones are the tambourine and the phone.
