After the Pharaoh leaves for the next world, Malik Ishtar attempts to find his place in this one. His apology to - and then subsequent surprise bonding with - the very strange Ryou Bakura over a long weekend of conversation leads to Malik ensuring they can keep talking even with half the world between them. Discussions of pain, loneliness, destiny, identity, and trauma in between painting miniatures and the pressure of a world interested in your academic and entertainment value.

My level of Sinclair appreciation has gone way up this time through B5.

I’ve felt that even just on my rewatch with tinsnip, and I just finished the show two months ago, it’s so surreal.

The acting is not as painful as I remember it (she says, as though September was some far away time to remember from), and he seems slightly more defined or filled in as a character? I almost always find captains and commanders in space shows to be dull and boring, so I don’t think he (or Sheridan) is really that great a character, but my frustration and irritation is definitely less this time around. Really wild.
