The stains on Umi’s armor persist despite my efforts, so her plastic parts will go back in the window for me to try something else but I wanted to put her all together to get some shots in her new body at least! These aren’t beautiful shots or anything, but I feel like I can start to see her personality better now that she can bend!

Any ideas beyond time, sunshine, and acne cream for those armor pieces let me know!

Umi! Her eyes are sculpted to look a little angrier than the other girls but I think we got her to a good place. You know I’m never opposed to angry of course, but the expression looks a little more versatile now. And not blank which was the goal from the beginning.

The poor thing is still so stained though haha

I think I ultimately want to get Umi (And the others) more toward her manga face, but for now, I just wanted to fill in her pupils, holy shit

She looks more ‘with it’ to me now. I’m gonna do the same to Fuu while I’m here.

If I’d known about the bills, these girls probably wouldn’t have happened, but I’ve wanted them for a good fifteen years or so, so I’m pretty happy they did. For those not in the know, these are the girls from the series Magic Knight Rayearth, which was a big influence on me growing up.

They still need some work - Fuu (green) is in need of some hair taming and a ribbon headband, Umi (blue) is badly stained both over and under her blue jacket, and everyone needs me to come up with a solution for their deteriorating boots - but I love them.

The plan is to eventually get them onto bodies that allow them to move more and to fill in a lot of missing paint details on their weapons and armor.

I adore their clothes. They have shirts underneath those jackets with collars and pleats and bows. They feel positively luxurious compared to the kind of doll clothing you end up with today.
