Birthday gift a month late for my friend Amy.   Our characters Xel (mine, purple genderless demon) and Cicero (hers, snake man from space) that we made together 20 years ago and have been revitalizing for the last few months.  I spent Friday at her house making this for her while she worked from home.

Day 31 is ‘Monster Version of Yourself’

I’m always a monster.  I’m full of all sorts of things people would have tried to breed out of the gene pool if I were born in an earlier era, including my unwillingness to add to it.  I’m asexual and queer and fat and my brain works (?) all contrary to anyone’s desires and I’m left handed and last year my left eye malfunctioned and only with significant advances in science will I ever see out of it clearly again.

This is about that last part.

Day 22 is Botanical 

She was almost entirely mushroom related, but since those aren’t technically botanical, I aimed tree instead.   When I was a kid, I was fascinated with trees that lived and walked like people, particularly with long branch fingers and broken hollows for faces. 

 This probably would have worked for the Elemental day drawing, too.   

Yo-Yo and Banshee.  Almost no part of this is the way it was meant to be, but I really enjoyed making it. 

The result of my foray into 80′s girly franchise art ala Lady Lovely Locks and close stylistic cousins for purposes of ‘hey, look, this is a thing I can do!’   I made up some rainbow nonsense and used stars, because of course I did.  She’s not supposed to be anyone, just in that stylistic family.

Really enjoyed myself, interested to do this with again sometime with some things adjusted to be more me.
