In honor of going another night without the meds I need, here’s like one of the first Bakura drawings I made and colored and then promptly told no one about. Was intended to be just Ryou and kinda spooky time, but looks a little too sinister to be him. Is not clearly unhinged enough to be the Yami Bakura situation so I don’t know what’s happening here, but there’s pastel and eyeballs, which feels like an Insomnia Will Ruin My Life Again Tonight kind of theme.

The dynamic with Yami Bakura is fucking delightful and watching him gleefully wreck everything is Exhilarating and yet it breaks my heart that the consequence of that is just that poor Actual Ryou Bakura gets shoved aside in his own body. Not to mention this just being like Not Great for Marik also. I do think using that interaction as motivation for Marik in the way after to be like, ‘okay, sorry, what are you actually like, though, because holy shit, that was wild’ is a cool angle though. For it to then be like, 'you are nothing alike except you made the deck he sent people to hell with and ???’ really amuses me

anyway, the moral of the story is these two are my favorites so look at all this stuff I drew

My friend @propheticfire is having a Yu-Gi-Oh Moment on this here tumblr dot com, which inspired me to revisit the limited time I had with the franchise. I enjoyed the hell out of it with my brother in both manga and anime form before certain circumstances and people made it unavailable to me for a long time. I’ve decided that’s bullshit and have made A Purchase to make up for it.

Anyway, while I wait for that, let’s all pretend it is in any way at all surprising that my favorite character was/is the one gleefully murdering everyone and using nightmarish horror monsters hidden inside the body of quiet effeminate pretty one. 👍
